Discovery Parks buys Blackwater Central Motel through ResortBrokers
Discovery Parks has purchased the leasehold of Blackwater Central Motel to complement its holiday and caravan park in the Central Queensland town.
Discovery purchased the 29-unit, predominantly corporate trade motel through ResortBrokers’ agent Nathan Benjamin, alongside ResortBrokers’ new Central Queensland agents Tania Johnston and Lleyton McArthur.
Blackwater Central Motel, located on Blackwater’s main thoroughfare, Railway Street, is less than two kilometres from Discovery Parks – Blackwater Holiday & Caravan Park.
“Blackwater Central Motel enjoys a strong corporate client base and a high level of repeat business,” says Mr Benjamin. “The motel is very well set-up for business trade with well-appointed rooms with kitchenettes, undercover parking and all the amenities corporate guests have come to expect.”
Discovery Parks’ Chief Operations Officer Matt Lang said the acquisition was a strategic complement to its existing presence in the town.
“Through our workstay division, Discovery Parks is one of Australia’s leading providers of corporate and workforce accommodation, supporting the remote accommodation needs of leading businesses around the country,” says Mr Lang.
“This acquisition enables us to cost effectively expand our presence in a region with strong upside thanks to booming resources, agriculture and transport sectors.”
