Debbie Cooper

Born and raised in Rand in New South Wales’ Riverina region, Debbie Cooper joined ResortBrokers in April 2022 to look after a part of Australia she knows intimately.

Her area covers southern NSW along the Murray River out to Swan Hill, and northern Victoria down to Shepperton.

Debbie came to ResortBrokers off the back of a diverse career, which includes sales, hotels and policing.

Her sales career in residential real estate as well as agricultural and heavy construction equipment enabled her to build strong relationships across New South Wales and northern Victoria. She also managed a country hotel which gives her an appreciation of the pressures faced by owners and lessees. From 1982, she spent a decade in the NSW police force stationed in Sydney and the South Coast.

“Because of certain work I’ve done before, especially policing, my listening skills have been honed and I’m not afraid to ask the hard questions,” says Debbie. “This is such an asset when speaking with vendors and purchasers to understand their requirements.”

With a reputation for getting things done, Debbie takes a win-win approach to sales. “I pride myself on getting the desired outcome for all parties involved, as well as never giving up on achieving those outcomes,” she says.

Debbie believes it’s also important to know your market, whether it’s hotels, motels, caravan parks or management rights.

“I know the region intimately because I grew up there,” she says. “It’s important to understand the accommodation market in this area and how it’s affected by who’s coming in and out, whether it’s seasonal workers for primary production, tradies for new local infrastructure or defence force personnel for training.”
